W Amsterdam is looking for a passionate, skilled and guest-focused Spa Therapist to join our award-winning Away Spa team.

What does the job include?

As a Spa Therapist, you are an ambassador of wellness and relaxation. You create memorable experiences by delivering outstanding massage and body treatments while ensuring every guest feels welcomed, cared for and completely rejuvenated.

You understand that luxury is found in the smallest details. Through your expertise, attentiveness and genuine care, you transform every treatment into a personalized experience tailored to each guest's individual needs.

Your responsibilities include:

• Delivering exceptional massage treatments using a variety of techniques, products and wellness tools

• Performing luxurious body treatments, scrubs, wraps and hydrotherapy services

• Assessing guest needs and discussing medical contraindications, allergies, injuries, pregnancy and health conditions before treatments

• Personalizing treatments to maximize comfort, relaxation and results

• Escorting guests throughout their spa journey and ensuring a seamless luxury experience

• Continuously monitoring guest comfort, pressure preference and overall wellbeing during treatments

• Preparing treatment rooms, workstations, linens and equipment to the highest luxury standards

• Recommending spa treatments, wellness programs and retail products that enhance guest experiences

• Building strong relationships with guests and maintaining detailed guest treatment histories

• Managing appointments efficiently and ensuring treatments are delivered according to schedule

• Maintaining impeccable cleanliness, hygiene and safety standards throughout the spa

• Sanitizing, cleaning and maintaining all treatment tools, hot stones, equipment and workstations

• Staying informed about the latest trends, techniques and innovations in wellness and massage therapy

• Maintaining all required licenses, certifications and professional qualifications

• Demonstrating expert knowledge of spa services, wellness offerings, retail products and promotions

• Supporting the overall operation, presentation and success of Away Spa

• Handling guest concerns with professionalism, empathy and confidence

• Following Marriott International service standards and wellness protocols at all times

• Reporting maintenance, safety or operational concerns when required

• Collaborating closely with Spa Hosts, Welcome Desk, Engineering, Style and other hotel departments

• Maintaining a polished, stylish and professional appearance consistent with the W brand

• Creating unforgettable moments that continuously exceed guest expectations

• Certified Massage Therapist with a valid massage qualification/license where applicable

• Experience within luxury hotels, wellness centers or high-end spas is preferred

• Passionate about wellness, hospitality and guest satisfaction

• Strong communication skills in English

• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

• Knowledge of massage contraindications, anatomy and wellness treatments

• Commercial mindset with the ability to recommend treatments and retail products

• Positive, energetic and professional attitude

• Flexible regarding shifts, weekends and holidays

• Able to work independently and as part of a team
