W Amsterdam is casting a Welcome Desk Agent to join our Welcome Team, responsible for the Welcome Desk in both the Exchange and Bank buildings, as well as the Whatever/Whenever® Department (our call center). You are the face of the W experience and play a key role in creating unforgettable moments for our guests.

What does the job include?

As a Welcome Desk Agent, you are the first point of contact for our guests and ensure a seamless, stylish and personalized W experience. You:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Welcome Desk as part of a larger team dedicated to making guest dreams come true

  • Are in the know: the expert on the hotel, the city, and all insider tips

  • Welcome guests and support them throughout their stay, following service standards from start to finish

  • Bring the Whatever/Whenever® service to life by connecting with guests and personalizing their experience

  • Ensure the Welcome Desk area always looks clean, polished and inviting

  • Work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends and nights

  • Prepare your shift thoroughly and ensure smooth handovers to colleagues

  • Thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑energy environment with music and movement

  • Collaborate flexibly with other departments — at W, we’re never on stage alone

  • Communicate clearly with your team and other departments, especially Style (Housekeeping)

  • Put the guest at the center of everything — any task that creates a memorable experience is part of your role

  • Process guest check‑ins and check‑outs

  • Assign rooms and issue/activate room keys

  • Handle all payment types (cash, credit, debit, room charges)

  • Answer and process all calls, messages, requests and questions via the Whatever/Whenever® Department

  • Run daily reports (arrivals, departures, special requests) and ensure accuracy

  • Manage your cash float at the beginning and end of your shift, following Accounting procedures

  • Follow all safety, security and grooming standards, maintain confidentiality and protect company assets

Job requirements

We are looking for someone who:

  • Speaks fluent English

  • Speaks Dutch or additional languages (preferred)

  • Has at least one year of Front Office experience, ideally in the luxury segment

  • Holds a valid work permit for The Netherlands

  • Thrives in a dynamic, international environment

  • Communicates with confidence and warmth

  • Stays calm under pressure and enjoys a fast pace

  • Works flexibly and collaboratively within a team
